What It Does

Global Site Tag (gtag.js) is a new Google Analytics replacement. WP Global Site Tag provides a framework for streamlined web page tagging, giving you better control while making implementation easier. Using gtag.js lets you benefit from the latest tracking features and integrations as they become available.

To use gtag.js to track your site, install the plugin and activate. It is simple to install and use, making it accessible even for clients. You can configure multiple Google Analytics properties, and a minified version of the code is injected for faster loading times. The plugin is built using WordPress best practices and standards, making it great for marketing agencies and individuals.

Setting up Google Tag Manager (GTM) with gtag is easy. You can swap out the initial GA_TRACKING_ID with your GTM container ID, allowing you to keep the universal analytics tag running smoothly within GTM while having gtag in the mix.

Global Site Tag streamlines tracking across all Google products, including measurement, conversion tracking, and remarketing products. It is the new replacement for the old Google Analytics script.
