Awesome
Love this plugin!
Payment processing is down and cannot get support from Poynt
For some reason, the website stopped processing credit cards as of last night. Poynt is throwing an error and will not show cc input fields. I reset the API key but that didn’t help. It’s their plugin that’s throwing the error. Their chat support says they cannot support website integration and says I have to contact their dev team. He cannot confirm if they work on weekends or how long it will take to get support. It’s Saturday morning and a holiday weekend with Monday off. He cannot confirm if they’re off on Monday. We ran a bunch of paid ads for this holiday weekend and the payment processing is totally down. This is a joke of a company. Use literally any other company. STAY AWAY!
Missing the Application ID
Instant conditional approval, Good prices, easy install! Almost a win EXCEPT for no Application ID. This plugin was built entirely by GoDaddy, it requires the Application ID, (Public Key and Private Key) except the plugin doesn’t say where to get it and the GoDaddy website and help docs don’t either! I spent 90 minutes on hold to find out how to get it. You probably need be logged in to your GoDaddy account, then open a new browser window, here: poynt dot godaddy dot com.

looks a bit like facial recognition
The approval process to obtain a GoDaddy payments account involves an online camera photographing your face from multiple angles. Other payment processors do not use this. This looks like it could be used for facial recognition if the data is passed on. If you are getting a payment processing account for a registered company you may find it intrusive to have to give personal data over. They should stick to just getting the documentation for a registered company and not require personal photographic data.

Eat your heart out PayPal
I have tried Stripe, PayPal, BrainTree, Square, and many other payment gateways. They all either had high fees, or were buggy and unreliable. After 6 months of using GoDaddy payments, I have not had a single issue and the fees are reasonable, better than most! I am confident enough with this plugin that I have now started to recommend it to clients over any of the options I mentioned above. My only complaint, I wish GoDaddy would make a plugin for Paid Memberships Pro, MemberPress and maybe even a stand-alone plugin!
