It also provides Gettext/localization tools for developers, such as extracting strings and generating templates.
Features include a built-in translation editor within WordPress admin, integration with translation APIs including DeepL, Google, Lecto, Microsoft, and OpenAI. Users can create and update language files directly in their theme or plugin.
The plugin allows extraction of translatable strings from source code and native MO file compilation without the need for Gettext on your system. It also supports JSON (Jed) file compilation compatible with WordPress script localization.
Loco Translate supports standard PO features including comments, references, and plural forms. It provides a PO source view with clickable source code references and a protected language directory for saving custom translations.
Users can configure PO file backups with diff and restore capability, and it includes built-in WordPress locale codes.
