Best child theme plugin out there!!!!
Thank you!!!!! More people need to know about this plugin!!!!
Finally, a child theme plugin that actually keeps your custom settings!
I am using Twenty-Twenty Five as my parent theme. I tried WP Child Theme Generator and Child Theme Configurator which both promised to keep my parent theme settings, but neither actually kept very many of them and I would’ve had to re-set all my custom settings from scratch again By contrast, this plugin worked so quickly and effectively, after I pressed the “create” button, I was directed to my home page in the editor, and I thought “Did that do anything? I didn’t have to wait very long and my site looks exactly the same.” Sure enough, a twenty-twenty-five child theme has appeared and was activated already. All I had to do was tell the child theme which navigation menus to use manually. My old menus were still there but the spot for them was left blank. Couple of clicks and it was exactly the same. Much better than the other two plugins I tried by a long shot!
Feature Request: Add file being modified by Create Block Theme
This post is more about a feature request than a rating which I think would be helpful to its users. Using Create Block Theme (CBT), I typically “Save Changes to Theme”. When I click “Save Changes” it’s not always clear which file(s) are being updated in the file system – I typically have to guess, e.g. that saving woo-commerce product catalog template using CBT is tied to archive-product.html. Is it possible to add a notice that show which files are being modified by CBT upon saving? The user could then understand what files are touched during the save.
A good solution for WordPress developers and not only.
I have been using this plugin since its inception. The first versions lacked functionality, there was a conceptual change in the paradigm and approach, now it is a very convenient solution for configuring and saving changes to the file system during the development of WordPress Gutenberg FSE sites. I am grateful to the developers for such a tool that allows you to solve many tasks without unnecessary effort, I recommend it to all developers who are starting their journey to FSE development. I will add even more: I have Clients, whos seen this tool at the development stage, asked to leave it for their use and they independently make global changes, after which they successfully export (commit) to the file system and these are people who have nothing to do with the code. They simply fell in love with Gutenberg, just like me, and work with it with love and pleasure.
