Do not rely on this backup plugin
Even if the plugin works fine in the beginning – at some point it stops working, without warning, without informing you about it, without any apparent reason. The synchronization doesn’t work anymore (for whatever reason). I have observed this now on several websites (and different web servers). Unfortunately, I even bought the lifetime license of this plugin. I would have been better off saving that money.
Amazing Support
Great plugin. The auto-backup-before-plugin-updates has saved me many times – makes for a quick rollback on a site if there’s an issue. Greatly appreciate the support team – they answer quickly and usually know immediately what my problem is and how to solve it, and if not, they dig in and find an answer. Great support, great plugin – we have about 100 sites using it and I wouldn’t be without it. Thank you!
Good concept, but after a year of unresolved issues, no real solution and no ref
I bought WP Time Capsule because of its promise of real-time and incremental backups. Unfortunately, in my experience, that core promise never worked properly. For about a year, I kept asking for help because the real-time backups never functioned as expected. The backups would only run during part of the day, then stop, and over time the situation became even worse. This was never truly resolved. What made the experience more frustrating is that support was extremely slow. In my case, replies often took several weeks, even for an active support ticket. I followed their instructions, ran tests for days, changed settings, and kept providing updates, but the issue remained open month after month. This was especially disappointing because my server resources were not low-end. I even had 48 MB/s I/O, which is above what many typical WordPress sites have, so this was not a case of trying to run the plugin on a very weak environment. Despite that, the core feature I paid for still did not work reliably. Eventually, after so much time without a real fix, I requested a refund because the plugin never delivered the functionality that led me to buy it in the first place. As of my experience, I still have not received that refund, and communication eventually became very poor. My personal recommendation to others would be this: do not start with the lifetime plan. Try the plugin on a monthly plan first and only consider a larger commitment if it truly works well on your site. I trusted the promise and purchased lifetime access, but in my case the main issue was never solved, and I honestly feel misled by that experience. I am not saying this will happen to everyone, but this was my experience: a backup solution that never fully worked as promised, extremely slow support, and a refund process that has not been resolved.

Lack of cloud providers… like PCloud, OneDrive…
Terribly slow on backups and lack of cloud providers… like PCloud, OneDrive…
Worked for me, active support helped.
I initially purchased a license with high expectations, believing it would integrate well with MainWP as advertised. While I did experience some early challenges with the plugin unexpectedly stopping, I appreciated the support I received after reaching out. Once connected with the support team, they were incredibly helpful, guiding me through each step to ensure my backups were functioning properly. Due to recent limitations on Dropbox API requests, we opted to switch to Amazon S3, which has been working successfully. So far, everything is running smoothly, and backups are performing as expected.

Great Support and plugin
Ignore the people on here moaning because they don’t realise that any backup solution should be monitored regularly. We have 130 sites working flawlessly on this best-value solution, and the support when something doesn’t work as expected is responsive and detailed. We’re very pleased with this backup regime and would heartily recommend this plugin.

High resources usage and support without solution
I tested the plugin in 30 websites and the plugin uses a lot of RAM. In shared hosting for expamples blocks the accounts. In VPS uses all RAM available (more than 3GB). The plugin creates additional tables in the database with more than 30.000 or 50.000 rows and more than 50mb… After talk with support team (with many email), they don’t offert any solution. So I lost 200€ of my money… I don’t recommed it.
