It works well, layouts are great and you can make your own elements. However once you set your site up with this you are locked in. There is not way to make your site usable without Visual Composer once you set it up because it fills your post body with shortcodes.

I’m not a pro, but I can tell you this: Unlike other page builders, VC required me to bump my PHP memory settings up by 100%, from 128MB to 256MB. Never had to do this for Beaver Builder. In VC’s system status dashboard, my site is never connecting to VC’s AWS, account, or large data transfer. My ISP has audited the connection and there is no blockage on their end. Hmm. Sluggish. Default responsive setup is awful – my site content is using 15% of the screen width, with huge margins on either side. I don’t want to have to hand-tune every page element to make it readable. Right now I can’t even edit my pages. Gutenberg loads fine, but VC just sits there and spins the loading indicator. I’m done with it.

The buggiest, slowest and most incompatible plugin I have ever used. Seems every other plugin breaks VC.

Praised as the best composer on the market, we immediately noticed that it had major flaws. The use of our own cloud immediately revealed itself to be a major flaw because it took us up to 6 minutes to wait to be able to make a change to the text block. We installed the Virtual Composer Tester template on the site to ensure maximum compatibility but nevertheless the problems continued. Not only that, but after the last plugin update it became impossible to make any changes to the pages because trying to remove or delete a widget, even a simple text block, caused the page to crash and lose all its content. Furthermore, the cloud system slows down the loading times of the site which receives a poor score on GTMetrix. We contacted the support center but after 10 hours of waiting we received no assistance. Even though on the manufacturer’s website they say to respond to everyone within 60 minutes and we didn’t do it over the weekend but during the week. We tried uninstalling the plugin and re-installing the previous version of the plugin, the one that initially worked, but this crashed the entire site, forcing us to carry out 3 restore/backups of the site. Very bad experience. We hope for a refund but we are not sure we will be able to obtain it, given that support does not provide a specific “satisfied or refunded” item, nor does it provide a specific ticket to request a refund
