What It Does

Stream is a powerful tool that keeps you informed about changes happening on your WordPress site. With real-time notifications and third-party integrations, it alerts you when something goes wrong.

This plugin is designed for debugging and compliance, allowing you to monitor user actions such as activating plugins, deleting posts, and login attempts. You can see who made changes and when, all recorded in an activity stream.

Stream logs user and system actions, providing an organized view that can be filtered by user, role, context, action, or IP address. Admins can highlight suspicious activity for further investigation. The plugin also supports email alerts and webhooks for integrations like Slack and IFTTT.

For advanced users, Stream offers a network view of all activity records on your Multisite, exclude rules for certain user activities, and a WP-CLI command for querying records. With Stream, you gain valuable insights to effectively manage your WordPress sites.

Who Should Use This?

Best for

Stream is ideal for site administrators and developers seeking a comprehensive and reliable activity logging plugin with integrated notifications and a professional interface.

Not ideal for

It may not be suitable for users needing detailed video playback tracking or highly customizable email notifications, and those concerned about past security vulnerabilities should ensure they use the latest version.

Pricing & Value

Free version includes

The free version offers extensive activity logging features and notification integration, sufficient for most users.

Final Verdict

Stream stands out with its comprehensive logging capabilities and user-friendly design, making it a valuable tool for monitoring WordPress site activity. Its integration of notifications adds practical value, and the plugin enjoys strong positive user feedback.

However, users should be aware of past security vulnerabilities that have been addressed in recent updates, and some limitations such as lack of video playback tracking and limited email customization. Alternatives like Logtivity may offer different features, but Stream remains a solid choice for most activity logging needs.
