What It Does

Safely manage your site's redirects the WordPress way. There are many redirect plugins available, but Safe Redirect Manager stands out by storing redirects as Custom Post Types. This approach ensures your data is portable and your website scalable. It is built to handle enterprise-level traffic and is used on major publishing websites.

The plugin comes with only the essential features, following the WordPress mantra of decisions not options. Actions and filters make it very extensible, allowing developers to customize functionality as needed.

To manage redirects, navigate to the administration panel under 'Tools' and select 'Safe Redirect Manager'. Each redirect includes fields for specifying the path to redirect from and the destination URL. You can also enable regex and use wildcards for more complex redirect patterns.

Redirects are cached using the Transients API, ensuring that stale redirects are not served. The plugin limits the number of redirects to 1000 by default to prevent performance issues, but this can be adjusted through filters. It also provides a developer documentation site for further customization and integration.
