What It Does

This plugin allows you to set a featured image for each category. Posts that do not have a featured image set will show the category's featured image instead. Featured images are typically displayed by the theme on the single post page, in the latest posts page, and more.

You can also display featured images using the shortcode [cfi_featured_image] or the PHP function cfi_featured_image(). To retrieve the featured image URL, the function cfi_featured_image_url() has been added.

Shortcode and PHP function support optional arguments such as 'size' for image size, 'class' for the image tag class, 'alt' for alternative text, 'title' for the image tag title, and 'cat_id' to select a specific category ID.

In case a post belongs to multiple categories with featured images, the first available one will be loaded. If a category lacks a featured image but has a parent category with one, the parent category's image will be used instead.
