What It Does

The Blogger Importer is a tool designed to facilitate the migration of blog data from a Google Blogger site to a WordPress.org installation. This plugin allows users to import various elements of their blog seamlessly.

Items that can be imported include categories, posts (whether published, scheduled, or in draft), comments (excluding spam), and images. However, it does not import pages, widgets, templates, or comment and author avatars.

Users should be aware of some known issues, such as the stripping of IFrames from post content and potential performance concerns during larger transfers. The plugin also provides actions and filters to extend its functionality without code modifications.

Final Verdict

Blogger Importer offers a free and simple solution for migrating Blogger content to WordPress, but it suffers from reliability issues and lacks important features like permalink preservation and import process control. Users with small blogs may find it adequate, but those with larger or more complex needs might face frustration.

The plugin's clean security record is a positive, but its inconsistent performance limits its appeal.
