What It Does

WP Accessibility is a plugin designed to address various common accessibility problems found in WordPress themes. While many accessibility issues require direct changes to the theme, this plugin provides several features that enhance accessibility with minimal setup or expert knowledge.

This plugin does not guarantee compliance with any specific accessibility guidelines but aims to assist users in improving their site's accessibility. Users can disable features based on their theme's requirements, and advanced users can customize stylesheets by placing their own styles in the theme directory.

Key features include adding skip links, language attributes, keyboard focus outlines, long descriptions for images, and enforcing alt attributes. It also provides tools for testing color contrast and identifying issues in the media library.

WP Accessibility is intended to help with deficiencies commonly found in themes and to solve some issues in WordPress core. While it cannot correct every problem, it provides valuable tools to enhance accessibility and identify potential issues.
