Incomplete on purpose
My experience with the YITH WooCommerce Membership plugin has been mixed. While the developers are responsive and helpful when issues arise, there are significant shortcomings in the product that make it difficult to recommend without reservation. Positives: 1. Support Team: The support team, particularly Alessio and Carlos, has been patient and attentive. They’ve gone above and beyond to provide custom code and CSS fixes to address some of my concerns, which I greatly appreciate. Negatives: 1. Lack of Core Functionality: Members cannot cancel or pause their memberships on their own. This is a basic feature that should be included in any membership plugin without requiring an additional plugin. 2. Dependency on Additional Products: The Membership plugin is heavily reliant on the premium version of YITH WooCommerce Subscription for essential functionality, such as managing recurring payments. This makes the Membership plugin feel incomplete, as you’re required to purchase two premium products to achieve what one should provide. 3. Unreadable Design on Black Backgrounds: The membership pages were initially unreadable on a dark background. While the issue was resolved with custom CSS provided by support, it highlights the need for better default styling options. 4. Duplicate Membership Entries Without Premium Subscription: Without the premium version of the subscription plugin, the system creates duplicate membership entries each month, cluttering the admin interface and making membership management unnecessarily complicated. PROOF FROM THE DEVELOPER “Hello there,I can understand your point of view and that you expect that feature by our plugin, but unfortunately it’s not in plan integrate what you ask in the next future. Using the plugin standalone user is able get access for a membership plan for the expected time, then a new order will be needed. The entire process can be managed automatically just with the premium version of YITH WooCommerce Subscription. We remain at your disposal for any additional question. Best regards,Alessio” Conclusion: The YITH WooCommerce Membership plugin shows promise but struggles to deliver a cohesive, user-friendly experience out of the box. It feels incomplete unless paired with additional premium purchases. While the support team is excellent and works hard to resolve issues, the core product needs significant improvements to justify its cost and utility.
AWFUL SERVICE NEVER USE
The plugin that i’ve purchased wasn’t working as support team promised me! before buying i’ve asked support agent if i’ll be able to assign subscriptions to my existing customers (before adding plugin), they said that yes, afterwards i followed the documentation and so that there is no option to choose parent order, and another agent said to me, that yes it is not possible to add subscription to an existing customers, they will need to resubscribe, so actually this team lied to me only to sell their PRO plugin version. Moreover when i’ve contacted them via email for refund, they where asking plenty of questions and acting rude, i’m totally unsatisfied and by the plugin and by support, i want my money back. Also the 14 days haven’t pass from the purchase date. So i had to start the dispute via pay pal in order to get my money back! NEVER USE IT!

El plugin funciona técnicamente, pero muchas de las opciones importantes no se pueden probar antes de comprarlo. Solo después de pagar puedes ver realmente cómo funcionan ciertas funcionalidades, y en mi caso no era lo que esperaba para un entorno profesional de subastas. Uno de los problemas más importantes es que, cuando termina la subasta, el comprador puede elegir qué artículos quiere pagar y cuáles no. Esto deja demasiado margen a los compradores para no pagar objetos que han ganado en la subasta, lo cual es un problema serio para cualquier vendedor que quiera gestionar subastas reales. Además, es importante tener en cuenta que si compras el plugin por segunda vez, no aceptan devoluciones, por lo que recomiendo a los usuarios informarse muy bien antes de comprarlo de nuevo. En mi opinión, deberían ofrecer más posibilidades de prueba antes de comprar, para que los usuarios puedan evaluar correctamente si el plugin se adapta o no a sus necesidades. Espero que en el futuro mejoren estos aspectos.

Worst support ever, really bad code, I will never install this plugin again
I have to say, my experience with the YITH WooCommerce Subscriptions plugin has been incredibly frustrating. From the outset, the plugin’s code is poorly structured, and it’s riddled with bugs that make it almost unusable. What’s worse, the Pro version, which you have to purchase to unlock more features, doesn’t offer any meaningful improvements. It’s just as bad if not worse than the free version. The free version barely gives you anything to work with, and the plugin constantly nudges you to buy the premium version, promising more functionality. But honestly, once you pay, you quickly realize that the paid version doesn’t really fix any of the core issues. It’s like you’re forced into a situation where you can’t get anything done without upgrading, but upgrading does not seem to offer any worthwhile solution. This plugin is supposed to handle subscriptions, but it struggles with even the simplest tasks, which is extremely disappointing for a product that claims to do just that. Save your time and money – don’t waste it on this plugin, or the paid version. There are far better options out there that will actually work as expected. The support is even worse….They don’t want to help you, they act like you are the enemy and they don’t want to waste their time with you. I’m positive that if the developers and the owners know that, they will do what they have to do.

Use the Offical Woocommerce Subscription Plugin Instead
I’ve been using YITH Subscription Premium for the past four years, and in that time, there have been no significant improvements or updates—the plugin feels outdated. If you’re considering it for a subscription-based business, I strongly recommend against it. Instead, go with the official WooCommerce Subscription plugin. WooCommerce Subscription also offers various add-ons that can help you build and scale a successful subscription business.I’ve made several suggestion for improvements that would benefit all users but Yith have the mindset of the plugin is “Ok”.
