What It Does

This plugin allows you to add a sitemap on one of your pages using the shortcode [wp_sitemap_page]. It automatically generates a sitemap of all your pages and posts for easier navigation.

Note that this plugin does not create an XML sitemap; it is designed for human users to find pages and posts easily. This sitemap can enhance the SEO of your website.

Key features include displaying all pages, posts, and categories, as well as custom post types. You can customize the display options and exclude specific pages or post types. The plugin is also available in multiple languages.

Comparing to Alternatives

WP Sitemap Page operates in a crowded space of HTML sitemap plugins, competing with several similarly focused tools. Its long track record and strong user rating help it stand out against newer or less-established options.

Top alternatives

Strengths

Very high approval rating with a large number of reviews
Long-standing plugin trusted across multiple sites for years, per user testimonials

Who Should Use This?

Best for

This plugin suits site owners who want a straightforward, no-frills HTML sitemap solution with a strong reputation for reliability and support. It's a good fit for those who value simplicity, accessibility-focused sorting options, and easy integration with Google Search Console.

Not ideal for

Users needing more advanced customization, block editor integration, or a vendor offering ongoing premium features may want to look elsewhere. Site owners with strict security compliance requirements should also confirm they're running the latest version, given the plugin's past XSS vulnerability.

Pricing & Value

Free version includes

The free version provides full HTML sitemap generation with sorting options and Google Search Console integration, based on user feedback—offering solid value without any paywall.

Final Verdict

WP Sitemap Page earns its strong 4.8-star rating through years of consistent performance and a support team that users repeatedly praise. With virtually no negative reviews and a large, satisfied user base, it's a dependable choice for anyone needing a simple HTML sitemap without added complexity or upsells.

The one blemish is a historical XSS vulnerability, now patched, which is worth noting but not a major ongoing concern if kept updated. Given the abundance of similar alternatives, this plugin's main advantage is its proven track record and free, fully-featured offering—making it a safe, low-risk pick for most WordPress sites.
