What It Does

Checkout Field Editor (Checkout Manager) for WooCommerce enables you to edit the default checkout fields of your WooCommerce platform. You can add, edit, hide, or delete the default fields, change labels, and rearrange checkout fields to suit your needs.

Comparing to Alternatives

This plugin operates in a crowded niche of WooCommerce checkout customization tools, competing with several similarly-named plugins offering field editing capabilities. Its long track record and high rating volume set it apart from many rivals still building their reputation.

Top alternatives

Strengths

Extremely high satisfaction rate with over 1,000 reviews and a 4.9 average
Repeatedly praised for fast, hands-on support that resolves compatibility and configuration issues
Pro version adds advanced features like conditional fields and repeatable fields for complex use cases
Long-established plugin with a large, proven user base compared to newer alternatives

Weaknesses

Three historical vulnerabilities (including a high-severity stored XSS) suggest a need for vigilant patching
Limited ability to deeply integrate custom fields directly into billing/shipping address blocks per user feedback
Occasional post-update compatibility issues reported by long-term users

User Sentiment Analysis

With 95.4% of reviews at 5 stars and only 2.7% falling into the 1-2 star range, sentiment is overwhelmingly positive. The reviews consistently highlight support quality as a standout differentiator alongside solid core functionality.

Positive highlights

robinrjs praised the plugin for delivering a complex restricted-checkout workflow with an audit trail, backed by 'brilliant' technical support
Brian Shim described support fixing a conditional field display bug within about an hour of submitting a ticket
edisonapps noted the support team identified and rewrote conflicting custom CSS to resolve a field issue
Jay Syder, a long-term Pro user, said repeatable fields for multiple attendee info 'work very well' and support quickly resolves update-related issues
eleonoramazzocchi called it an 'excellent, flexible plugin' after using both free and pro versions

Common complaints

Inability to directly integrate custom fields into existing billing or shipping address fields, limited to adding them as separate additional fields

Weaknesses

Three recorded vulnerabilities historically, including a high-severity unauthenticated stored XSS fixed in version 2.1.8
A moderate security risk score reflecting a pattern of past issues that require users to stay current with updates
Some limitations in how deeply fields can be integrated with native checkout address fields

Who Should Use This?

Best for

Store owners who need flexible checkout customization—such as conditional fields, repeatable fields, or custom validation logic—and who value responsive, hands-on support when issues arise. It suits both simple additional-field needs and more complex conditional logic scenarios via the Pro version.

Not ideal for

Users needing deep native integration with existing billing/shipping address fields, or those who cannot commit to prompt updates given the plugin's history of patched vulnerabilities, including a high-severity XSS issue. Security-conscious site owners should ensure they are running the latest version at all times.

Pricing & Value

Free version includes

The free version allows adding, editing, and reordering custom checkout fields, covering basic customization needs for many WooCommerce stores.

Pro version (39 - 129 USD / year)

The Pro version adds conditional field logic, repeatable fields (useful for scenarios like multiple attendee details), and other advanced customization options, backed by priority support as frequently praised in reviews.

Final Verdict

This plugin enjoys a strong reputation, driven largely by consistently excellent support and reliable core functionality across a huge user base. The rare complaints center on limitations in address field integration rather than fundamental flaws, and the Pro tier adds genuinely useful features like conditional and repeatable fields for more advanced checkout workflows.

The main caveat is security history: three vulnerabilities have been patched over the years, including a high-severity stored XSS as recently as 2026. Given the crowded field of alternatives, this plugin remains a solid choice for its maturity and support quality, provided users stay diligent about applying updates promptly.
