What It Does

Create advanced Sticky Headers in Elementor Free or Pro with scroll effects, blur, shrink, and hide on scroll. This plugin allows you to build sleek, customizable sticky headers that respond to user scroll behavior.

Sticky headers are crucial for enhancing navigation, branding visibility, and user experience on modern websites. With over 10 scroll-based effects, you can adapt your header beautifully to your page design.

This plugin is ideal for developers, designers, bloggers, and agencies seeking more control over header behavior without coding.

Comparing to Alternatives

Sticky Header Effects for Elementor competes in a crowded space of sticky header and floating widget tools, many of which are Elementor-specific extensions. Its focus on motion effects and design flexibility sets it apart from more basic sticky-on-scroll utilities.

Top alternatives

Strengths

Deep integration with Elementor's Motion Effects, allowing designers to build sticky headers with animation and transparency effects
Responsive support for sidebars and sticky panels beyond just headers
Strong reputation for free customer support, including help beyond what's covered in documentation
Wide adoption with a large base of positive reviews relative to competitors

Weaknesses

Mobile behavior can be inconsistent and harder to control than desktop, requiring extra troubleshooting
Recent versions have added upsells and companion plugin installs that some long-time users find intrusive
Confusing documentation around how sticky positioning interacts with Elementor's native sticky settings

User Sentiment Analysis

With a 4.5/5 average from 68 ratings, sentiment is largely positive—nearly 90% of reviewers gave 4 or 5 stars, and only 4.4% left a 1 or 2 star review. The tone across recent reviews is appreciative of the plugin's core functionality, though a few users flag growing pains around bloat and mobile responsiveness.

Positive highlights

haoge praised the free, fast, and effective support they received even without using the Pro version
jkalukic called the sticky panel feature 'incredibly useful,' noting it worked flawlessly across screen sizes
Developer zahir called it the best plugin for sticky headers in Elementor despite wanting more CSS customization options
Udayraj Khatri said the plugin has been a great help across projects and even led them to discover other useful tools

Common complaints

The plugin has shifted toward bloatware, with unwanted installs like 'WPDesignKit' being pushed through the dashboard
Persistent upsells and marketing prompts have been added in recent versions, a change from its previously simple, straightforward design

Weaknesses

A medium-severity missing authorization vulnerability was found in versions prior to 2.1.3, though it has since been patched
Mobile-specific sticky behavior can conflict with desktop settings, leading to layout issues
Increasing dashboard clutter and third-party plugin promotion may frustrate users who prefer a lightweight tool

Who Should Use This?

Best for

Elementor users looking to build sticky headers with visual motion effects, transparency, and animation without heavy custom coding will find this plugin valuable. It's especially useful for designers who want free, responsive support and are comfortable navigating Elementor's Motion Effects tab for configuration.

Not ideal for

Users needing precise, conflict-free mobile behavior may find the plugin's desktop-first design frustrating. Those wary of dashboard upsells or additional plugin installs, or who require an untouched history of security vulnerabilities, should proceed cautiously and ensure they're running version 2.1.3 or later.

Pricing & Value

Free version includes

The free version provides core sticky header functionality, including motion effects, sticky panels for sidebars, and transparency options—enough for most standard Elementor sticky header projects without paying anything.

Pro version (39 - 109 USD / year)

The Pro version typically extends customization options such as advanced CSS class hooks (like a 'sticky-active' class), more granular mobile controls, and additional design effects, based on standard offerings in this plugin category.

Final Verdict

Sticky Header Effects for Elementor holds a strong 4.5-star rating built on genuinely useful functionality and responsive free support, with very few users reporting serious dissatisfaction. However, recent reviews reveal a shift toward more aggressive upselling and companion plugin installs that long-time users find at odds with the tool's original simplicity, and a patched but real authorization vulnerability adds a note of caution for security-conscious site owners.

For those who need robust Elementor-native sticky header effects and don't mind occasional dashboard prompts, this plugin remains a solid, well-supported choice among a dense field of alternatives. Just ensure you're on the latest version for security, and test mobile behavior carefully, as that's where most functional complaints arise.

FAQ

The header cannot shrink smaller than the objects inside of it.

The “shrink” effect is restricted by the size of the content in the header section, such as logos, images, menus, widgets, and also all of the padding and margins of those elements. This also includes the padding and margins of the sections and columns themselves.

To get the best “shrink” effect use these settings:
* Set the top and bottom padding to 0px on your sticky header section, column, and elements inside of it.
* Set a custom logo and other image height (you can leave the width blank for “auto”).
* Set the header section height to “min height” and adjust it to your desired height.

Basically what happens is that the content of the header is “too tall” to shrink down anymore.
