oEmbed Plus

Description

oEmbed Plus adds support for embedding Facebook and Instagram posts in both the Block Editor and Classic Editor of WordPress. This feature was previously available but was removed due to the deprecation of legacy APIs used by WordPress core.

Before WordPress version 5.5.1, users could embed various types of content from Instagram and Facebook. However, changes made by Facebook in October 2020 necessitated the use of new APIs, which this plugin implements to restore the embedding capability.

To use this plugin, you will need to register for a Facebook developer account and create an app to obtain the necessary API credentials. The setup process does not require coding, but an API key must be created and configured for the plugin to function properly.
