No Refund Policy for Not Working Plugin is Absurd
This plugin only gave me frustration and a headache. The trial (200 credits) was conducted smoothly and without error. I was satisfied with the result (the quality of the compressed images and the amount of saved memory were good) and proceeded to purchase 1,000,000 credits, as I had a lot of images that needed to be optimized. However, after the purchase, the plugin started to behave. The bulk option did not work, i.e., it showed “pending” for hours without any result. Cancelling the process and deinstalling the plugin did not work – the number of optimized images remained the same as it had hours ago. The only way to navigate my large image database was to go through the media library and manually initiate the process, which is a long and frustrating process (and, well, does not justify the significant investment). The worst part is getting a refund, which is impossible according to their policy. Going through tickets / AI assistant is frustrating, as they show an error “you cannot get cancellation and refund for this plan “. No refund policy is ludicrous – for the product I invested a lot of money on and cannot use? I have been waiting for a support response for a few days (I have a feeling I will be ghosted), and if there’s no positive result in a few more days, I will open a dispute due to product dissatisfaction to try to cancel the transaction through my bank. Once again, and to be fair, I think it’s a good plugin with some great results overall. However, it may not be effective if you have a large image database. But the company’s attitude / policy is something I would avoid dealing with. Update: Since the review, a customer representative has reached out, which is a positive step in itself. However, the response remains unchanged: no refund is offered after the trial, as the client had the opportunity to test the plugin before making a purchase. What does consumer protection for unsatisfactory services think about this? Additionally, the latest ticket containing a full description of the problem disappeared from their system, and, unlike other companies, the company did not send any email confirmation. How convenient.

It’s just bad
The folks at elementor making yet another baffling choice, this time with a completely nonsensical image optimizer that compresses 1mb jpg’s to 965kb avifs. Just stop it with the “elementor one” nonsense and stay with it for once. Webflow and Framer are both doing great, yet here we are with the bizarre business decisions of Elementor.

Poor image quality, S-L-O-W processing, high resource usage, frequent failures
After using this plugin for over a year, I can only say it leaves much to be desired. The compressed image quality is overall poor, even if you spend lots of credits testing trying to get it right. It can take a long time to process even a single image, sometimes taking more than a minute. Batches seem to offer a better overall performance gain, although the poor image quality remains an issue. I was led to believe all image processing was offloaded to the cloud, which may be true, although the CPU utilization increases quite a bit when this plugin is processing images. Finally, there are frequent failures where the images simply do not get optimized. There is no auto-retry, so you must manually intervene when this happens. There are other issues as well, such as not being able to determine how many credits each site has used if several small sites share a plan. Elementor suggested logging into each site, count how many items need to be optimized and how many were optimized. What?!? This plugin was poorly designed and poorly implemented. I expected much better from a company like Elementor.

Blocking all the images in a WordPress site's media library without prior notice and demanding money to unblock them constitutes extortion (Article 312.1 of the French Penal Code), punishable by 7 years in prison and a €100,000 fine. Can anyone provide me with the contact information for the person responsible for the Image Optimizer plugin? Le fait de bloquer l'ensemble des illustration de la médiathèque d'un site wordpress sans information préalable et d'exiger une somme d'argent pour en permettre le déblocage est une extorsion de fonds (article 312.1 du Code Pénal français) passible de 7 ans de prison et de 100 000 € d'amende. Quelqu'un peut-il me donner les coordonnées du responsable du Plugin Image Optimizer ?

Another Bait and Switch Plugin
This is another bait and switch plugin where they offer a service for free for a limited time, then stop providing the service because they want you to go pro. No thank you. I can resize my own photos on my laptop myself, it really isn't that hard to do. If I had to pay for every single plugin on here I would be broke.
