What It Does

Hostinger Tools is an all-in-one plugin designed to streamline essential tasks for WordPress site administrators. This plugin offers a range of features to help you manage your site's information, maintenance mode, security, and redirects effectively.

Features include displaying the current WordPress and PHP versions with automatic update checks. You can easily enable or disable maintenance mode for your site and provide a URL to bypass it for selected users.

For security, you can enable or disable XML-RPC requests and the Authorize application page. The plugin also allows you to force all URLs to use HTTPS and WWW for consistent site access.

Additionally, it can automatically generate a structured LLMs.txt file in Markdown format, including your website title, description, posts, pages, and products if WooCommerce is active. The file is kept updated with content changes.

Hostinger Tools is the new version of the previous Hostinger plugin, offering an updated and enhanced experience.

Comparing to Alternatives

Hostinger Tools sits in a crowded field of remote/site management plugins, though it's distinct in that it's tied specifically to Hostinger's hosting environment rather than being a universal multi-site dashboard. Compared to broader management tools, it offers convenience for Hostinger customers but less flexibility for those managing sites across multiple hosts.

Top alternatives

Strengths

Tight integration with Hostinger's hosting panel for quick access to SSL, redirects, and maintenance mode
No cost and no upsells, unlike many multi-site management competitors that gate features behind subscriptions
Simple, clean interface praised by several users for ease of use
Convenient for beginners who want basic hosting controls without leaving wp-admin

Weaknesses

Automatically installed and activated by Hostinger without explicit user consent, which frustrates many site owners
Less useful for those managing multiple sites across different hosts, unlike dedicated multi-site dashboards
Has a documented history of bugs, including compatibility issues with page builders like Divi

User Sentiment Analysis

With a 3.5-star average from 40 ratings, sentiment is polarized: 60% of reviewers gave 4-5 stars praising simplicity and integration, while 30% left 1-2 star reviews citing forced installation and bugs. This split suggests satisfaction largely depends on whether users wanted the plugin in the first place.

Positive highlights

gillmour called it 'well thought smooth tools' that make the experience smooth
Marcos Nakamine described the tools as offering 'very nice integration'
shyshlov praised the clear interface and easy access to redirects, SSL, and maintenance mode, noting stable performance over several months
wappsnet called it 'the best hosting management plugin'

Common complaints

Plugin gets automatically installed and activated by Hostinger without user consent, sometimes disrupting existing site design (e.g. Divi)
Seen as unnecessary bloatware that adds no real value and consumes site resources
Overly frequent update prompts and persistent notifications on every login, seen as violating WordPress guidelines
Buggy behavior, including breaking CSS in some setups and triggering deprecated PHP warnings in code
AI features are considered ineffective and overly censored

Weaknesses

A documented medium-severity vulnerability (unauthenticated maintenance mode toggle) existed in versions before 1.9.8
Repeated user complaints about auto-activation without consent raise trust concerns
Reports of compatibility issues with popular page builders like Divi

Who Should Use This?

Best for

Hostinger customers who want a straightforward way to manage SSL, redirects, and maintenance mode directly from wp-admin without extra cost. It suits beginners or casual site owners who appreciate having hosting-level tools integrated into WordPress.

Not ideal for

Users managing sites across multiple hosting providers won't find much value here, since it's tied to Hostinger's ecosystem. Those wary of plugins being auto-installed without consent, or concerned about the previously patched unauthenticated maintenance mode vulnerability, may also want to proceed cautiously and ensure they're on the latest version.

Pricing & Value

Free version includes

The plugin is entirely free and bundles hosting-related controls—like SSL management, redirects, and maintenance mode—directly into the WordPress dashboard for Hostinger customers.

Final Verdict

Hostinger Tools delivers real convenience for Hostinger customers, bundling handy hosting controls into the WordPress admin at no extra cost. Positive reviewers highlight its clean interface and smooth integration, but a substantial 30% of reviews are 1-2 star, largely driven by the plugin's automatic installation without consent and reports of bugs affecting themes like Divi.

Given the mixed sentiment, a previously patched but real vulnerability, and the availability of more flexible multi-site management alternatives, this plugin is best approached as a convenience tool for Hostinger-hosted sites rather than a must-have. Users should ensure they're running the latest version and weigh whether the hosting-specific integration outweighs the reported friction around forced installs and update prompts.
