I remember the times I was bombarded with hundreds and thousands of quite inapropriate spam on my numerous Wordpress sites. It took a lot of time, energy, and patience to clear that up. Yet, for years I used the free version of Anti-Spam by Fullworks on my more than 25 educational Wordpress sites with no issue whatsoever.
