This plugin allows you to easily add a custom top bar notification message to your site with live customization options via the WordPress customizer. You can enter your notification bar text and an optional button to display next to your text. It is perfect for notifying visitors of current sales, hot products, warnings, or other important messages.

The Easy Notification Bar plugin uses the newer 'wp_body_open' action hook introduced in WordPress 5.2.0, which allows it to work better with any theme that supports this tag. Unlike other notice bar solutions that rely on absolute positioning, this plugin inserts the notice bar right after the body tag, ensuring it displays perfectly without conflicts on well-coded themes.

By default, the notification bar is static, meaning it displays at the top of your site and becomes hidden when you scroll down the page. This is generally better for usability and SEO. However, in version 1.4, a new sticky option was added that allows the notification bar to remain visible as you scroll down. This functionality uses the CSS sticky property.

You can also enable a close icon for your notice, allowing visitors to hide the message for their current and future sessions. This uses localStorage instead of cookies. Additionally, you can choose to hide the notification bar when the call to action button is clicked.

This plugin makes use of the WordPress core “wp_body_open” action hook which should be added to every theme header.php file and was introduced in WordPress 5.2.0. You will need to properly add this action hook to your header.php file and or contact the theme developer so that your theme is updated accordingly.
