What It Does

Download Attachments is a new approach to managing downloads in WordPress. Instead of a bloated interface, it enables a simple, drag and drop, AJAX-driven metabox where you can insert and manage your Media Library files. You can automatically or manually display them before, after, or inside post content.

Features include automatic or manual download links display, the ability to select post types for use, and various display styles such as list, table, or sortable dynamic table. It also tracks downloads, allows advanced attachments sorting, and provides a Most Downloaded Attachments widget.

The plugin supports drag and drop file ordering, is based on Media Library attachments, and offers easy customization of frontend and backend displays. It features pretty URLs for download links, URL encryption, and a customizable templates engine.

Developers can utilize two shortcodes, five functions, and multiple filter hooks. The plugin is compatible with WPML and Polylang, and a .pot file for translations is included.
