What It Does

The Duplicate Post plugin allows you to effortlessly duplicate posts and pages in WordPress, significantly boosting your productivity. This tool is perfect for users who need to create variations of content or reuse elements across different pages.

With this plugin, you can quickly copy pages or posts with just a click. It offers various options for customization, such as specifying which elements to copy and how the cloned content will be named. You can even duplicate child pages along with their parent pages.

In addition to duplication, the plugin provides a robust tool for deleting duplicate posts and pages, allowing you to maintain a clean and organized site. You can set parameters to identify duplicates based on title, slug, or content length, ensuring you keep the versions you want.

For users looking for more advanced features, a premium version is available, offering additional options for managing duplicates across multiple sites and more.

Comparing to Alternatives

Duplicate Post sits in a competitive niche of post-cloning utilities. It's earned strong loyalty for its simplicity, but faces credible competition from more established or actively maintained alternatives.

Less brand recognition and community trust compared to Yoast Duplicate Post

User Sentiment Analysis

Positive highlights

"Not just copies, [DP] give the opportunity to make edits to a bunch of stuff before it commits" — Grego606
"I've been using this for a short while and already it's saved me time... a real productivity boost!" — dereklc
"Great plug-in that functions as intended with no extra Bells & Whistles" — harturi

Common complaints

Plugin injected unnecessary HTML elements, hidden inputs, and JavaScript into the public-facing frontend, including the homepage, despite being intended for admin-only post duplication
Frontend injection included modal structures and global event listeners that malfunction when expected DOM elements are missing on public pages

Weaknesses

A documented history of four known vulnerabilities, including medium-severity SQL injection and unauthorized post deletion issues
A recent low-severity flaw involving arbitrary post content and password disclosure, patched only very recently
At least one detailed report of unwanted frontend code injection affecting live public pages

Who Should Use This?

Best for

Content creators, bloggers, and site admins who need a fast, no-frills way to duplicate posts or pages while preserving formatting and blocks. It suits users who value simplicity over advanced workflow features.

Not ideal for

Security-conscious site owners managing sensitive or high-traffic public sites should proceed cautiously given the plugin's history of vulnerabilities, including SQL injection and authorization flaws, plus at least one report of unwanted frontend code injection. Users needing granular revision approval workflows should also look elsewhere.

Pricing & Value

Free version includes

The free version offers core one-click post and page duplication, including the ability to create multiple copies and preserve formatting and blocks, which appears to satisfy the vast majority of users' needs.

Pro version (29 - 79 USD / year)

Specific premium features are not detailed in available data, but a paid tier likely extends duplication capabilities such as bulk actions, scheduling, or advanced customization options typical of this plugin category.

Final Verdict

Duplicate Post enjoys an outstanding reputation among its user base, with near-universal praise for its simplicity and reliability in day-to-day content workflows. The overwhelming 5-star sentiment reflects a plugin that does exactly what it promises without unnecessary complexity, and long-time users describe it as an indispensable productivity tool.

However, its security track record tempers enthusiasm: four known vulnerabilities, including a recent SQL injection and authorization flaws, plus a detailed complaint about unwanted frontend code injection, are legitimate concerns. Users prioritizing simplicity may be well served, but those with security-sensitive sites should weigh these risks against alternatives like Yoast Duplicate Post before committing.
