Great plugin, great team
Before trying to bootstrap something yourself, as I did, do yourself a favour and invest in Charitable, your future self will thank you! It has a great core and the team have bent over backwards to make it work for my pretty unusual situation (five membership tiers, loads of custom fields, 4 languages…). Let’s be honest, no plugin is designed to be all things to all people. Charitable does donation and donor management exceptionally well and in a delightfully simple environment/interface. It was never designed to be a membership plugin – but actually, for a membership organisation such as our new Gaudí Movement, it’s working fine for annual subscriptions and related member relations (I’ll update this when I have more experience as we grow).

They kept their cool so I didn’t have to lose mine
As a web designer, I’ve seen more hosting migrations go sideways than I care to admit. So when a Square payment integration hiccuped mid-migration on a new client build, I braced for the usual support experience — you know, the one where tumbleweeds blow through your inbox for three days. Not here. The Charitable support team was already on it before I finished typing my first email. The plugin itself? Intuitive, powerful, and genuinely well-built. But great software with lousy support is just a fancy headache. Charitable delivers both, and that’s rare enough to shout about. This was my first time using Charitable — it will not be my last, and I’ll be recommending it to every client who needs a donation solution. Five stars, no notes, go team.

I experienced a serious issue while evaluating Charitable (Free version). Raised a support request and was amazed by the response. Very proactive. The issue took a lot of effort on their part to diagnose and fix. Turned out to be an unfortunate interaction with another installed plugin. A great first impression. Would highly recommend these people.
Outstanding, hands-on support during a complex migration
I recently migrated from GiveWP to Charitable after using GiveWP for 9 years and thousands of donations, which was a significant project for my site. I put off migrating due to just how time consuming I felt it would be. I saw Charitable was offering a complimentary migration as part of their plans so I decided to give it a try as I’ve had good past experiences with the Awesome Motive family of plugins. I cannot say enough good things about the support team, specifically David. He didn’t just point me to documentation; they actively troubleshooted complex issues with my caching, Stripe webhooks, and donation form display, even providing beta builds solving plugin issues discovered during my migration and custom snippets to get everything working perfectly. If you are looking for a donation plugin that is backed by a truly helpful, responsive, and thorough support team, Charitable is the one. They made a daunting migration process completely manageable.

We use Charitable from many years and is a must have for a no profit association like our. Very appreciated for anonymous donation, recurring donation, many payment gateway. Thanks to charitable we was able to finance our project with our own web site!
