What It Does

Site Mailer is designed to effortlessly manage transactional emails for your WordPress site. It guarantees high deliverability, ensuring that your emails reach their intended recipients while minimizing the risk of being marked as spam.

This plugin provides a detailed email log that allows you to track and resend messages if necessary. With Site Mailer, you can say goodbye to the complexities of SMTP plugins, making email management more efficient.

Site Mailer features an easy setup process, allowing you to get started quickly. It supports sending emails from your custom domain and includes a 30-day log retention for easy tracking of email activity. Additionally, it is compatible with popular plugins like WooCommerce and Contact Form 7.

Comparing to Alternatives

Site Mailer competes in a crowded SMTP/email deliverability category with dozens of established plugins. Given its low rating and vulnerability history, buyers have plenty of alternatives worth evaluating before committing.

Top alternatives

Strengths

Simple initial setup that some users find quick to configure
Reported to work reliably for email delivery once set up
Bundled distribution through Elementor gives it built-in visibility and reach
Support team has helped some users consolidate multiple licenses

Weaknesses

Confusing free-tier limits (200 emails) that surprise users expecting a fully free plugin
History of being auto-installed without explicit user consent via Elementor updates
A patched high-severity stored XSS vulnerability affecting versions before 1.2.4
Far more mature, higher-rated alternatives exist with longer track records

User Sentiment Analysis

With a 2.3/5 rating from only 16 reviews, sentiment is sharply polarized: 62.5% of reviewers gave just 1 star, while 31.3% gave the full 5 stars, and nothing in between. This bimodal split suggests a plugin that either works well for some setups or generates significant frustration for others.

Positive highlights

SprialOwner praised the plugin for working well across several sites, with support consolidating multiple licenses into one account
Suyta called Site Mailer 'fantastic' at solving email delivery issues, noting the free plan is 'enough almost always' and the premium plan is affordably priced
AmyZealand found the initial setup easy and confirmed emails were sent successfully despite other frustrations

Common complaints

Confusion and frustration over the free tier being capped at only 200 emails before requiring payment, despite being marketed as free
The plugin being installed automatically without explicit user consent, apparently bundled via Elementor updates
A mandatory ReplyTo email setting that creates a poor experience for site owners' clients
Perception that the plugin's promotion feels like unwanted spam pushed onto Elementor Pro users

Weaknesses

A patched high-CVSS (7.0) unauthenticated stored XSS vulnerability found in versions prior to 1.2.4
Trust concerns stemming from reports of unconsented installation on production sites
Restrictive free-tier email limits that undercut the 'free' positioning
Rigid ReplyTo configuration that frustrates real-world usage

Who Should Use This?

Best for

Users already embedded in the Elementor ecosystem who want a straightforward, no-fuss email deliverability tool and are comfortable with a limited free tier before upgrading to a paid plan may find Site Mailer adequate, especially if they've had good experiences with its support team.

Not ideal for

Site owners wary of plugins being installed without direct consent, those needing generous free sending limits, or anyone cautious about the plugin's patched high-severity XSS vulnerability should proceed carefully or opt for a more established alternative with a stronger security and consent track record.

Pricing & Value

Free version includes

The free version reportedly allows sending up to around 200 emails before requiring an upgrade, which has caused confusion among users expecting broader free usage similar to other SMTP plugins.

Pro version (4.99 - 29.99 USD / year)

The paid plan unlocks higher sending volumes beyond the free tier's cap, and at least one reviewer described it as inexpensive, though exact pricing tiers and feature breakdowns are not detailed in available reviews.

Final Verdict

Site Mailer shows a stark split in user sentiment: a minority of users are genuinely satisfied with its deliverability and support, but the majority of reviewers—nearly 69% at 1-2 stars—report real frustrations, from unconsented installations to a free tier that feels misleadingly limited. Combined with a patched but serious stored XSS vulnerability found in versions before 1.2.4, this history warrants caution.

Given the sheer number of mature, well-reviewed alternatives like FluentSMTP, Easy WP SMTP, and WP Mail SMTP, most users will find better-established options with cleaner installation practices and stronger reputations. Site Mailer may suit existing Elementor users seeking convenience, but those prioritizing trust, transparency, and a clean security record should look elsewhere first.
