What It Does

This plugin places a Call Now Button (click-to-call button) to the bottom of the screen. Because your mobile visitors already have a phone in their hands, this plugin will allow them to call you with one simple touch of the button. No more navigating to the contact page and no more complicated copy/pasting or memorizing the phone number!

Connect to our cloud service to enable more action buttons such as WhatsApp, Signal, Telegram, Messenger, SMS/Text, Email, Directions, Skype, Viber, Zalo, WeChat, Line, and more. The settings are very easy: enable and enter your phone number. That’s it!

The label allows you to add some text to your button. Leaving the label empty will show a nice circular phone button to your visitors. Under the Presentation tab, you can change the colors of the button, move it to a different screen position, and limit the pages on which the button should be visible.

In the Settings menu, you’ll find a bunch of features such as click tracking in Google Analytics, fire a conversion tag so a call is registered as a conversion in Google Ads, adjust the size of the button, or move the button further backwards in case you want something else to sit on top of it. Connect the plugin to our cloud service NowButtons.com to unlock more features.

Comparing to Alternatives

Call Now Button competes in a crowded space of click-to-call and floating contact button plugins. It stands out for its polish and dedicated support, though the category offers many similar free tools worth considering.

Top alternatives

Strengths

Easy setup with a beginner-friendly interface
Responsive, knowledgeable support team according to long-time users
Feature-rich compared to many basic click-to-call alternatives
Strong overall satisfaction reflected in near-perfect rating

Weaknesses

Some multi-button features are gated behind paid plans, which can feel restrictive
A history of multiple authorization and XSS vulnerabilities across versions
Simpler alternatives can achieve the same basic tel-link functionality for free

User Sentiment Analysis

With 102 ratings, sentiment is overwhelmingly positive: 95.1% are 5-star, and only 2.9% fall into the 1-2 star range. This indicates strong general satisfaction, though a small number of users have raised concerns about support and pricing transparency.

Positive highlights

vimalsoneil praised the support, calling it 'Awesome' with best wishes to the developer
Marcus Kasuni called it 'very easy to use' and a 'perfect tool at a glance for new WordPress users'
ttrusty highlighted it as their 'go-to WP plugin' thanks to being loaded with options and excellent support
An anonymous reviewer said 'I love your plugin' despite reporting a technical error

Common complaints

Marketing around the multi-button feature is seen as deceptive, since buttons can't appear together on the same page without upgrading
Slow or unresponsive support for some paid feature inquiries

Weaknesses

Five recorded vulnerabilities historically, including authorization and XSS issues, though all have been patched
At least one user reported confusing or misleading upsell messaging
Occasional technical/compatibility errors reported with certain themes and PHP versions

Who Should Use This?

Best for

Ideal for small business owners, freelancers, and site builders who want an easy, visually appealing click-to-call button without coding, and who value responsive plugin support.

Not ideal for

Not ideal for users needing multiple simultaneous call/contact buttons without paying, or highly security-conscious site owners who prefer plugins with a cleaner vulnerability history—always ensure you're running the latest patched version.

Pricing & Value

Free version includes

The free version provides a functional click-to-call button with customizable design options, suitable for most basic use cases.

Pro version

Paid plans unlock additional features such as multiple buttons displayed on the same page, advanced targeting, and expanded customization options beyond the free tier.

Final Verdict

Call Now Button enjoys strong user approval, with the vast majority of reviewers praising its ease of use and helpful support team. The rare negative reviews point to frustration over paid feature gating and occasional slow support responses, but these appear to be exceptions rather than the norm.

Prospective users should be aware of the plugin's history of medium-severity vulnerabilities, all of which have been fixed in current versions—so keeping the plugin updated is essential. Given its polish and support reputation, it's a solid choice for those wanting a simple, professional call button, though budget-conscious users needing multiple buttons should weigh the pro upgrade cost against free alternatives.
