Made my media library unavailable?!
I used it in free trial mode, it optimized a handful of never-used images deep in my thousands of blog posts instead of letting me select front page ones. My home page is slow, and multiple images say “error”, with advice to upgrade the plugin. It sure looks like extortion! Now I can’t upload new image files. I can’t get my media library to display.Has this plugin completely ruined my site? Why is the plugin not acknowledging the issues and displaying information on how to repair the damage and regain full use of our sites?WordPress needs to remove/ban this plugin!

It’s just bad
The folks at elementor making yet another baffling choice, this time with a completely nonsensical image optimizer that compresses 1mb jpg’s to 965kb avifs. Just stop it with the “elementor one” nonsense and stay with it for once. Webflow and Framer are both doing great, yet here we are with the bizarre business decisions of Elementor.
Decent Optimizer
Tried it for image compression on my site. It does reduce size and helps a bit with loading. Setup was easy, too. But sometimes optimization feels a bit slow. Still ok for basic use.

Keeps forgetting that we have a license
I'd like to make it stop doing that. Hopefully the 5th re-connect is the charm for this image optimization plugin…

Poor image quality, S-L-O-W processing, high resource usage, frequent failures
After using this plugin for over a year, I can only say it leaves much to be desired. The compressed image quality is overall poor, even if you spend lots of credits testing trying to get it right. It can take a long time to process even a single image, sometimes taking more than a minute. Batches seem to offer a better overall performance gain, although the poor image quality remains an issue. I was led to believe all image processing was offloaded to the cloud, which may be true, although the CPU utilization increases quite a bit when this plugin is processing images. Finally, there are frequent failures where the images simply do not get optimized. There is no auto-retry, so you must manually intervene when this happens. There are other issues as well, such as not being able to determine how many credits each site has used if several small sites share a plan. Elementor suggested logging into each site, count how many items need to be optimized and how many were optimized. What?!? This plugin was poorly designed and poorly implemented. I expected much better from a company like Elementor.
extortion (Article 312.1 of the French Penal Code)
Blocking all the images in a WordPress site's media library without prior notice and demanding money to unblock them constitutes extortion (Article 312.1 of the French Penal Code), punishable by 7 years in prison and a €100,000 fine. Can anyone provide me with the contact information for the person responsible for the Image Optimizer plugin?

Another Bait and Switch Plugin
This is another bait and switch plugin where they offer a service for free for a limited time, then stop providing the service because they want you to go pro. No thank you. I can resize my own photos on my laptop myself, it really isn't that hard to do. If I had to pay for every single plugin on here I would be broke.
