What It Does

The Accessibility New Window Warnings plugin helps make websites more accessible by providing warnings for links that open in new windows or tabs. This is important for users who may have difficulty perceiving visual content or those with cognitive disabilities.

When activated, the plugin automatically detects links that will open in a new window and adds three key features: a new window icon after the link text, a tooltip that appears on hover stating 'opens a new window', and screen reader text that informs visually impaired users about the new window.

Additionally, the plugin integrates with the Accessibility Checker plugin, clearing any existing warnings related to links that open in new windows. This makes it easier to maintain accessibility standards across your website.

The plugin is also ready for localization, with a Spanish translation available and a call for contributions for more translations.
