What It Does

BP Classic is an add-on developed by the official BuddyPress team to ensure compatibility with older configurations. It is designed for setups where third-party BuddyPress plugins or themes are not yet compatible with the BP Rewrites API introduced in BuddyPress 12.0.0.

This add-on restores features and templates that have been deprecated in BuddyPress 12.0.0, including the BP Legacy widgets, the BP Default theme, and legacy navigation globals.

While BP Classic only operates with BuddyPress version 12.0.0 or above, users can activate it in advance, putting it in 'sleep mode' until the upgrade occurs. Join the BuddyPress community to contribute and enhance the software for everyone.
