What It Does

WP-ShowHide is a WordPress plugin that enables you to embed content in your blog posts using the ShortCode API. By default, the content is hidden, and users must click on a link to toggle its visibility. This feature is similar to what is used by Engadget for their press releases.

To use the plugin, simply wrap the content you want to hide within the showhide shortcode. You can have multiple instances of showhide in a single post by specifying different types. The plugin also allows you to customize the default visibility and text for showing or hiding the content.

Additionally, you can style the content using CSS, which is generated by the plugin. This flexibility makes it easy to integrate the showhide functionality into your existing site design.

FAQ

Pass more_text and less_text on the shortcode. %s in either one is replaced with the number of words being hidden, and a label with no %s in it is used exactly as written.

Yes. It is two rules and it is enqueued under the handle wp-showhide, so dequeue it from your theme:

add_action( 'wp_enqueue_scripts', function () {     wp_dequeue_style( 'wp-showhide' ); }, 20 );

The toggle keeps working; the button will simply look like your theme’s buttons instead of like a text link.
